AGM proposal

Post  Jim Millin on Thu Dec 01, 2011 12:20 pm

Mr President, Captain and members of the Committee,

Over the past year or two some difference of opinion and ill feeling has been caused by the ruling that Campoverde members had to qualify to take part in so called "major" events during the year. This was achieved by playing three games prior to that particular competition and becoming eligible.
Those of us who are not fortunate enough to live in Spain all year round have on several occasions (through no fault of our own) not managed to meet this criteria thus having to play as guests with our own Society. This is a pity and most divisive because those involved play all other games whenever they are in Spain and fully support the Society whenever possible and felt let down by this ruling.
I would therefore respectfully wish to make a proposal to be placed on the agenda for the AGM 2012.

Proposed by Mr Jim Millin and Seconded by Mr Ken Carpenter:

The qualifying period for major competitions should be removed from the society statute books and cease to be a requirement.
